Those of you with rather astute powers of observation will have noticed that a certain lump of rock features rather regularly in these photo essays. Bass Island is a stunning feature off the coast of North Berwick where we were fortunate enough to spend a couple of nights. The handsome hound is Blu who accompanied Rod on a morning walk in that gorgeous place of crumbling castles on craggy coastlines.
Why the fungi like plastering on the wall in 7th pic? Kind of looks like a mausoleum wall… Do you know? Funny that black dog is called Blu. Maybe the Scots are responsible for calling our red heelers blue dogs. A peverse sense of humour. Like it
The rocks that the wall was made from about 800 years ago have eroded in the wind and rain to make those beautiful shapes. The wind and rain on the Scottish coast has that sort of effect. If I stood facing that cold sea for long enough my face would probably erode like that too!
WOw, it’s all so beautiful, very green and grand company in Blu
Great pictures showing home and my faithful companion at their best! So good to see you both. Looking forward to Europe experiences. Safe travels
